The architecture of Barcelona is strongly influenced by the works of Antoni Gaudi. One of the most brilliant creations of Gaudí is the Sagrada Familia, a giant Gothic temple, which has been worked on since 1882. The construction lures more than two million visitors yearly and is the most visited attraction in Barcelona.
If you come to the Sagrada Familia, you can also visit the museum inside the church.
It presents visitors with the history and the development of the Sagrada Familia and also offers fascinating insights and impressions of Gaudí’s life. In the museum you will also be able to watch the stone cutters belabouring the stones required for the constructions.
It is definately worth visiting the museum, especially worth viewing is the photo documentary about the whole development of the church from the beginning to the present day.
Furthermore, a model of the finalized Sagrada Familia is displayed. The completion of the constructions is anticipated to take place in approximately 80 years.
